We often come to the practice of meditation with preconceived notions about what it entails. Some of us think meditation is a thought-free state, or a blissful experience. In this video, Mingyur Rinpoche clarifies that meditation, in fact, is simply connecting with awareness and noticing what is already present. In his characteristically playful way, Rinpoche includes an exercise entitled “pizza meditation” in which we try to control our minds. Come find out what happens when we stop trying to control and instead open to the naturalness of experience.
