When we begin a meditation practice — particularly if we are new to meditation — we can feel that we are having more thoughts and emotions than before. As Mingyur Rinpoche explains in this monthly teaching, this is actually a very good sign! By resting with our mind, it becomes clearer, and we begin to recognize thoughts and emotions more easily. As we meditate, we become more familiar with awareness beyond positive and negative thoughts and emotions; this is the practice.
